HEART STEALER gave me a very enjoyable reading experience. Kayla and Randall are both basically good people and their love for each other deepens as they learn more about each other. This is a very heartwarming story and my emotions were very involved with the people in the book. All the characters' personalities were well-defined and three-dimensional. The dialogue was authentic and the imagery was vivid and realistic. The writing style was smooth and flowed easily from beginning to end. However, the story could have used a good editor as there were quite a few typos and grammatical mistakes. (FYI, the past tense of "grind" is "ground," not "grinded.") Overall, I liked HEART STEALER very much and I will look forward to reading the next books in the series. I definitely recommend this book to others.

Tiphanie Thomas' debut novel, "Heart Stealer," is a compelling mix of romance and drama. Randall Rowe may be a big movie star, but his roots are in Summerdale, Michigan. He changes runaway Kayla's teenage life, but doesn't quite know how to handle the woman she becomes. When Rowe decides it's time to sort out his life in Summerdale, he's forced to face the best and worst in himself. Likewise, Kayla discovers she can't move forward until she's dealt with the past. Thomas does an excellent job of unfolding her story as these two find each other and themselves in the process. Having Rowe be a rich movie star adds a nice romantic fantasy element. Wouldn't we all love to stay in fabulous hotels and make love to an action hero? (At least for a weekend, anyway.) This is a great book to take to the beach and enjoy a romantic mental getaway. Thomas is one to keep an eye on.
Both main characters were emotionaly scarred people and I get that. However, enough is enough. I could hardly concentrate on this book hoping beyond hope that the male character would figure out he deserved support, he deserved to have the career of his choosing (I initially thought he was going to give that up too), he deserved to and should have walked away. Oh well, I guess that is the point of such a book, to pull you in and give you a feeling one way or another. This is just mine. These two were not only made a horrible horrible pairing, but their lives aside from physical was very bland and she was too country and small minded to encompass his largess. She did not even try and I have a feeling if there is a sequel, it will be more of the same. I would not pull myself through what this book offered a second time around.
This book was okay. The ups and downs and emotional confusions with Randall and Kayla were sometimes a little much. It was interesting to read the explorations that people go have when trying to move forward with new relationships. If there is a sequel to the story, I would read it.
I really enjoy a good love story.Heart Stealers started out good but it just fell flat. The characters Randall and Kayla were ok,nothing exciting. The excitment was missing. I finished reading but not a page turner.
Very predictable. Lead female character a bit exasperating but still a pretty good read. A bit more character development is what is needed.

I am shocked that this is a debut from this author. It was such an entertaining and thoroughly satisfying read from the first to last page. Randall looked out for Kayla when meeting her as a runaway teenager, and of course she has a crush on him that developed later into much more years later when Randall now see's her as a woman. Kayla was extremely proud, and would not take gifts from Randall. Often times I wanted to shake her and say just take the darn gifts! Of course they had their share of conflict, but their love was strong enough in the end to overcome it all. If you buy this book dedicate at least six straight hours to reading it because you will not want to put it down. I can't wait to read more about the people in Summerdale.

Kayla was a sixteen-year-old girl who life had dealt a bad hand to, and she was trying to get away from it. Eight years later, Kayla has become a member of the Rowe family, and Randall is returning home for the first time in a while. The question on everyone's mind, especially Kayla's, is why is he here? Randall has returned home to make amends, but things are not as easy as Randall had anticipated. Kayla has been in love with Randall from the first time she meet him, but his reckless, carefree behavior in the past has caused Kayla to guard her heart. Randall will have to give the most memorable performance of his life if he wants a chance to steal Kayla's heart.

Heart Stealer by Tiphanie Thomas is a wonderful read. Thomas is an excellent writer. She does a wonderful job of keeping the storyline flowing without having any lagging moments. She also has very good character development. Their are several secondary characters throughout the story which Thomas integrates into the story seamlessly. Heart Stealer is a feel good love story that should be added to any "to be read" pile.
